What a place! Villa Melo is the bee’s knees!

What strikes you first upon arrival is definitely the panoramic views, best appreciated during sunrise (lazy man top tip: set an alarm, set up a time lapse, crawl back to bed, reap the rewards) or just throughout the day on a BYO unicorn float. Dive deeper and you’ll find Villa Melo has it all: amazing views, infinity pool, comfortable beds, a well equipped gym, and cars and mopeds for hire. But perhaps what makes Villa Melo stand out the most is host Moritz and his dedicated team. Moritz lives on-site but when he’s out and about he responds comprehensively with lightning speed on his phone. He helped us arrange our airport transfer (and then personally drove us the last mile up the hill and helped us with our suitcases up the stairs), hooked us up with reliable drivers that we employed throughout our trip, arranged in-house massages for us, secured a booking for us to the Ang Thong National Marine Park through a reputable guide and even had his girlfriend cook a monstrous Thai feast for us on our last night. Our only regret was that we weren’t hungrier that night to see off all the food! Moritz has pretty much thought of everything to make this your perfect stay, he’s even provided a phone and a tablet with local contacts and recommendations at your disposal. Although not a full local yet himself (he’s getting there), Moritz, his girlfriend and his team are the epitome of Thai hospitality. When we come back to Koh Samui, which we no doubt will, we know where to stay.
